Man killed in shooting at Charlotte apartment complex: (By Steve Lyttle, slyttle@charlotteobserver.com) Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say some sort of meeting among three men in an apartment complex parking lot ended in death for one man early Tuesday morning.The shooting happened a few minutes after midnight at the Steeplechase Apartments, on Wallace Road off East Independence Boulevard.

Killed was 39-year-old Douglas Landon, police said.

Man found stabbed in hotel breezeway: (Staff Reports) A man was stabbed several times at an airport motel early Monday and now police are questioning the woman they believe was with him. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said they found the man in the breezeway of the motel at 4230 Keeter Drive off Little Rock Road in Charlotte. They followed a trail of blood back to his room, and used motel records to determine a woman was in the room with him, according to WBTV.
