The collision happened at about 8:30 a.m. on Amity Place near Sharon Amity Road."

The nonprofit facility in northwest Mecklenburg County reported a 16 percent increase in gross revenues for the fiscal year that ended Oct. 31, taking in $10 million. That's up from $8.6 million in 2009, a new audit shows."

Gaston County police were called to a home on Rosebriar Lane early Saturday. When they arrived, they found 81-year-old Odessa Martin dead inside her bedroom from apparent stab wounds."

Bluestar Silicones says it will consolidate manufacturing facilities in other states into a single operation in Charlotte. It will operate at the former site of the Virkler Chemical plant on Steele Creek Road in southwest Charlotte."
